The Clockhouse is a popular day centre for the over-50s in Milford which provides opportunities and friendship in their spacious building with cafe, entertainments room and well-stocked shop. The centre also provides services including hairdressing, reflexology, chiropody and eye tests.

GOLO contributed (October 2016) towards the cost of replacing obsolete lighting with low-energy LED units that should result in an 80% saving in energy costs. Pictured is Centre Manager Kirsty Bruton with GOLO volunteers Inge Hempstead, Liz Wheatley and Di Clift..

Dower House in Milford provides retirement and sheltered housing for vulnerable local people. The centre provides 28 one and two bedroom self-contained flats with non-resident management staff and a community alarm service.

There are centralised communal areas providing regualr group activities, and in the courtyard is a popularly used communal garden. One of the residents, Joyce, took up on her own initiative to renovate the garden and ably assisted by another resident Chris has brought the space back to life with the planting of new flower beds.

GOLO was delighted to donate a voucher (July 2016) for the purchase of additional plants to be enjoyed by the residents. Pictured with GOLO volunteer Cath Lovell are Joyce and Chris seated by one of the new flower beds.
